sunburn.
By the pool, one hundred degrees outside
Slick with sweat, body humming with life
Pinkened shoulders, a small red nose
Sweet breath of wind, the water flows
I am free in the sun, ready to swim or fly
My feet in the water, my hands in the sky
I am both land and sea,
I am not her or him
I am only Me-
The Sun breaks upon me, in deafening waves
And his hands slide, beat violently on my face
Fingers of sunshine swimming in my veins
My sunglasses perched on my nose
As if I am no one
It is moments like this, where I pretend to not exist
That in all the day, I feel like this life is no one but mine's
And I am truly, sweetly-
glorious
